A young man pretends to be in jail in a foreign country so that he can extort payments from his family. As always
in these situations, the friend who's helping him turns it into a real kidnapping.
This scene
was one I had remembered seeing when I was younger, but couldn't remember which '70s detective show it was
from. It turns out to be Cannon, which hasn't been rerun as much as some others.
